The Greeks have a poor time of it when it comes to their romantic image – sure, they had the original gods of Eros and Aphrodite, not to mention those dashing young heroes, Jason and Hercules – but the culture of catamites and homosexuality lingers on and makes Greeks the butt of dirty jokes in Europe today.

You might imagine that the beaches of Greece would be full of olive-skinned Greek girls and guys lying half-naked in the sun… and they might well do so were it not for the hordes of British working class who come on 2 week holidays to get drunk, sunburnt and laid with one another wherever and whenever.

For most of the world Greece means only ancient history and philosophy and modern day island beaches. For us it means much more – there’s mousaka and feta cheese, for starters…

Greek couples yell and fight a lot. They appear surly, and the men are not seductive or gallant. They will walk right past a woman struggling with weighty bags and never offer to help.

Greece is inundated with mass, cheap tourism arriving on package holidays to get drunk and nasty throughout the year and summer probably isn’t the best time to visit. Learn some Greek though and the locals will love you.

One thing that is not up for debate is the quality of the "Greek Woman". Greek women, unlike many North-American women truly know how to keep their appearance in high-gear 24 hours a day. From the slums of Votanikos, to the chic neighborhoods of Kolonaki and Nea Erythrea, you will find wonderfully coiffed, sexy Greek women for your viewing pleasure.
